Lavender Moon Quartz Filigree Bridal Solitaire Silver Pendant Necklace

Lavender Moon Quartz Filigree Bridal Solitaire Silver Pendant Necklace

Regular price $90.00 Sale

This Elegant Lavender Moon Quartz Sterling Silver Solitaire Necklace is another of our "updated traditional with a twist" designs. This sterling silver filigree solitaire pendant features a bright and sparkling Lavender Moon Quartz that measures 6 mm in diameter and weighs almost 1 carat. Lavender Quartz somehow manages to be both elegant and dreamy. Lavender Quartz comes from the Boquira Mine in the municipality (município) of Oliveira dos Brejinhos in the northern Brazilian state of Bahia. The Borquria Mine opened in 1956 and is currently no longer producing, so this beautiful stone will become increasingly rare as the supplies available are purchased.

The vintage-inspired scroll mounting is the perfect blend - delicate detailing with substantial prongs to hold your stones safe. This unusual mounting features filigree detailing below the stone and delicate tracery at the bale. We finish this beautiful pendant with a dainty Sterling Silver oval-link chain and lobster claw closure, and it arrives packaged for gift giving.

The history of necklaces tracks back to 40,000 years, during the Stone Age. The oldest necklaces were made of purely natural materials and included colorful and interesting natural elements. Metal chain as we know it didn't become possible until the Bronze Age, and necklaces became more elaborate in the second century A.D. when assorted gems were introduced. Gem cutting techniques developed during the Renaissance led to the first solitaire style pendants, which have been a classic jewelry element for centuries.
