Rainbow Moonstone Marquise Engagement Ring with Moissanite Accents in Silver
This stunning Rainbow Moonstone Marquise Engagement Ring with Moissanites in Sterling Silver features a sparkling Marquise-cut faceted Rainbow Moonstone that measures 8 mm x 4 mm (approximately .47 carats), and is clear with few visible flaws and bright flashes in blue and blue-green. This center stone is accented by two fully-cut faceted round Moissanites that measure 2.5 mm each (approximately .1 carats each), and are set in 4-prong mountings.
The center stone sits approximately 7 mm above the finger, and the carefully shaped mounting below the stone helps protect the delicate ends of the Marquise cut. This beautiful Sterling Silver three-stone ring tapers gracefully from 8 mm in width to a 1.5 mm band that has been carefully curved and smoothed for comfort and excellent fit. Although the band of this ring is not wide enough for engraving, this ring pairs well with many of the bands that we have available!
Legend has it that the creation of the Marquise-cut is credited to King Louis XV of France, who commissioned his court jeweler to create a diamond cut to reflect the beautiful shape of the mouth of his friend and long-time mistress, the Marquise Madame de Pompadour, in the 1750's. Because of their long, narrow shape, marquise cuts are often credited for making a finger appear longer and more slender. This historical cut, once worn by the French Court, has seen a resurgence in popularity in both new and vintage jewelry.
